Sara and Ross were married in Havelock North in early January. Sara grew up in the Bay so it was a given that she would get married there one day.
The ceremony was held in the Iona College chapel (Sara and her sister are both Old Girls) followed by the flower strewn reception at Black Barn Vineyard.
Sara shares a few details about the day….
"I always knew my wedding dress would be traditional, elegant and glamorously timeless. I worked alongside the wedding dress designer and together we designed my Jane Yeh gown - the most amazing gown I could ever imagine.
Leading up to the ceremony, I wanted my day to be focused on spending time with our family, friends and future husband. Black Barn provided a luncheon at Rush Cottage with the bridal party and both families. This was a lovely time spent relaxing in the sunshine, sipping on champagne and having photos in the vines. Our wedding was a truly magical day where we got to celebrate our love with the people we love and cherish."
Sara and Ross decided to have a First Look - this is when the Bride and Groom meet for photos before the wedding ceremony, it's a great idea if you don't want to be away from your guests for photos after the ceremony...(it's also good if you think the Groom may burst into tears when he sees his beautiful Bride enter the church) This made time to go about things in a more relaxed manner, Sara and Ross had a bit of time together with their families during the day and Sara was able to get spend a bit of time having some fun shots taken with her school friends, they had a bit of a laugh re-enacting their school Formal photos, fortunately this time without the crimped hair-do's. Poor Ross didn't have much of a look in with his mates as he kept getting dragged away for MORE photos.... I swear I saw his biggest smile as I said goodbye to them and was on my way home....but as you will see he did a stellar job. And BTW - Best Wedding Cake EVER!
